Evergreen Lodge at Yosemite

The property is about 1 hr drive from the valley. You will not need a driving reservation to go into Yosemite National Park on a weekday in October. You will need to pay $30 per vehicle once which will cover 3 days of entrance into the park.

Itinerary

Monday October 7th
- Check In at 4pm
- Rehearsal at 6pm
- Family dinner at John Muir House 6:30pm
- Game night, s'mores, hot tub, etc.
Tuesday October 8th
- Ceremony at 4:30pm
- Photos 5:30pm
- Dinner 6:30pm
- Party time :)
Wednesday October 9th
- Yosemite Explore Day
- Dinner at the Ahwahnee Hotel 6pm (dress code)
Thursday October 10th
- Check out at 11am

Rehearsal

We'll have a rehearsal of the ceremony at the Evergreen lodge on Monday October 7th in the evening before cooking a casual family dinner at the John Muir House. We ask that all guests attending the wedding are also at the rehearsal. Please try to arrive on-site by 6pm.

Ceremony Details

The ceremony will begin at approximately 4:30pm on Tuesay October 8th. We'll have an outdoor ceremony with family photos to follow, and then a 4 course dinner outside (weather permitting).

Ceremony Preparation

Our ceremony with honor some jewish and some mormon traditions. While we will be incorporating some Hebrew scripts, but no one needs to study Hebrew before hand. We will be singing a communal hymn and lyrics will be printed out on the program. Please review the song below if you'd like to practice.

What should I wear to the ceremony?

What ever you feel best in! We do not have strict wedding colors or a theme. Some people will wear a full suit an tie, while others will wear a sweater over a button down shirt. It's all your choice, we're just happy to have you with us :)

The wedding ceremony will start at 4:30 PM on Tuesday October 8th.

What food is available at the Evergreen Lodge

The property does have a restaurant and each cabin is equipped with a mini fridge. We'll have access to a full kitchen in the John Muir House and will stock the place with breakfast foods, drinks and snacks. You are welcome to bring your own foo to store in your room or at the John Muir house, but there should be plenty of options.

Is there a bar onsite?

The pool bar will be close but the Tavern bar will be open. Alcohol is permitted at all locations of the property.

What happens after the ceremony?

Throughout dinner we'd love to have a variety show which might include toasts, roasts, magic tricks, karaoke, etc! Let us know if there's something you'd like to perform. We can keep the party going at the tavern bar or the John Muir House after dinner.

What should I pack?

October is usually sunny but chilly so pack layers. We have a private hot tub and the hotel has a heated pool. Remember sunscreen an a hat as we will be at high altitudes. We have the opportunity to go on some moderate hikes so bring appropriate shoes and a small day pack. In addition to what ever you wear to the ceremony, we'll be having a formal dinner on Wednesday as well, so make sure to bring the change of clothes with you into the park and we'll change before dinner.
